Harrison, a Socialist, who was arrested in connection with the strike at Capetown, was fined £SO or six months' imprisonment. He went to prison.
THE TRANSVAAL ELECTIONS.
Received 19, 11.30 p.m. Johannesburg, March 19. Twenty-three Laborites were elected in the Transvaal Provincial Council elections, in most cases by overwhelming majorities. In the Rhodesian elections the proChartered Company candidates were elected at Salisbury and Bulawayo.

The National Union of Railwaymen, after an interview with Mr. Poutsma, has cabled to the South Africa railwaymen £SOO. Their, letter declares that they are astounded at the South African Government's high-handed action.
THE INDEMNITY BILL PASSED.
Capetown, March 18. A movement is contemplated for extraditing Kendall, who escaped. The proposed application .arises from alleged admissions in Australia. The Minister of Justice drew-the attention of the Transvaal Attorney-General' to them. " " -"aw .<: • ■■■■.-
