GENERAL TELEGRAMS.

FREEZING WORKS FOR TAIHAP3S. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Taihape, Last Night. At a well-attended meeting of district farmers to-day, a proposal to take steps in the direction of establishing freezing works at Taihape was discussed. No opposition was offered to the scheme, and the proposal was so eniastically taken up that 35 farmers present guaranteed well over 20,000 sheep annually for freezing. A committee was appointed to canvass the district and report to a later meeting. RESCUED AT LAST. Tauranga, Yesterday. The man was rescued from Rabbit Tsland early this morning, apparently none the worse for 30 hours without clothes, food and little shelter. His name is Stanley McCay, a single man about 25 years of age. He walked from Rotorua. sleeping out en route.
