A suffragette in male attire, found in the lobby of the House of Commons, was sentenced to six weeks' imprison ment. She said her intention was to thrash Mr. Asquith or Mr. McKenna, Home Secretary. Their Majesties attended a charity matinee at the Palladium Theatre. A suffragette shouted a protest against the imprisonment of Mrs. Panknurst. The police turned her out, and then other suffragettes in the gallery showered down literature and were ejected. The newspapers are publishing urgent appeals for more drastic punishment, including deportation.
