A PLAGUE OUTBREAK.
AMONG THE CINGALESE. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright Sydney, March 18. Advices from Colombo snow that there is a severe outbreak of plague among the natives. A panic set in among certain sections of the native population and a stampede to South India followed. There are numerous cases of men being found dying in the streets or in public places. ■ Certain steamship companies will discontinue booking passengers to Singapore and the Far East. Being the homeward season, the outbreak is regarded seriously.
