The first part of the dav was devoted to children s races, when even child got a prize. Sack race Fred Smith i At 3 p.m. the children sat down in the hall to tea. After doiim pisthe to the many good things provided for them, the tables were again repL lished. and Ihe adults partook of t&a. The usual dance was held in the ball in the evening and was well attended. Mr Henry, lecturer under the Education Board, gave a very interesting address at the Waitara Road factoiy last Wednesday on "Diseases of Cattle and Their Cure." There was a ..air audience assembled, and Mr Smith wis in the chair. The lecturer answered a number of questions, and at the close was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The next lecture will be in the Ilnirangi Hall, on Wednesday evenias, the subject being "Food and Feeding." The party telephone line Ulwee.'. Waitara and TTuirangi is ju>( ibout completed. Tt will be a great 'on er.ience to the settlers. ITuirangi is at last to have a more up-to-date hall, the necessary monev having been collected in pi.blic and private subscriptions. The trustees intend proceeding with the work at o..ee.
