MAORI CHILD DROWNED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Gisborne, Yesterday. A iMaori girl, live years old, wandered hom her parents who were attending the Land, Court at Te Araroa. Search was made all the afternoon anil night and she was found in the river thi* morning.
A SAWMILL ACCIDENT. Dargavillc, Last Night. Late this afternoon, Harold Anderson proprietor of the Dargavillo sawmill, met with a nasty accident. Whilst dogging a log preparatory to hauling to the saw, a wedge slipped, and a cliii off the log entered his right eye. It it feared that he will lose the right eye. A SUDDEN DEATH. Dunedin, Last Night. Advice was received from Palmarston to-night that Jaines Rosa, a married man with four or five children, -was found dying on the road at Green Va'lev to-day. He was taken to Dunback, but died before a doetor arrived. Tip deceased was a shepherd, and had "been driving a mob of sheep. . A LITTLE BOY DROWNED.)' Invercargill Last Night. A five-year-old boy, name*. Crawford, was drowned in a itool near the Bluff to-day. 'Die boy and a companion had been cray-fishing, when the little fellow somehow fell in and was drowned ere help could be obtained. ■
