Ltd., yesterday, and was present while the bore was being baled out. The yield* at present consists of a thick brown mud, of which tb* manager estimates about &3 per cent. is water, and about two thirds oil. Thi»substance is run oil' into au excavation outside tho derrick, where the oil 1»cxtractcd from it by means of a steaming process. Above this excavation it a lurge iron, tank, containing the resulti of the "separating process, a thick »iteoUs dark green oil, which ~js being sonveyeir- in pipes to the, storage tanks at the refinery. The action of the hot SUA on the mud in the excavation will also draw the oil to the top almost better than will the stwunintr process, s. that on days when the sun is strong the oil can be baled away from the surface of the mud tank. The manager estimates that the weD is now yielding from 15 to 20 barrels of oil per day out of the proceeds of tn» baling, and anticipates that in tho course of a few days the well will b*> entirely cleaned out, and a flow of pur* oil will be encountered. A ladle full of this mud. heated over the gas in tho furnace yesterday, goon commenced to bubble and bunt into flame, the oil bocoming visibly separated from the mu6>
OTHER BORES. The manager reports that Nos. 3 an<t 5 bores are both flowing well.
