An action for'alleged slander in which two Waipawa doctors, Deck and Reed, figure as plaintiff and pendant re " spectively, is being heard in the Supreme Court. Dr Deck claims 4501 damages for statements contained in letters written by Dr. Reed, in which the latter charged ' Dr. Deck with a breach of professional ctiauette in wittingly intruding on one of Dr. Reed's p&tients. The cause of the action.arose during the smallpox scare, Dr. Deck visiting the patient in question in, his capacity of public vaccinator.
