MOA SCHOOL ASSOCIATION.
The above Association held its usual bi-monthly meeting .m inglewood school on Saturday last, the 14th inst. Present: Messrs Baxter (Egmont Village), Stevens (Norfolk), Coad (Dudley), Kilpatrick (Waiongona), Boldt. (Lincoln), Simpson (Durham) and Hood (Inglewood). Mr. E. Stevens oecupiod the chair in the absence of the president (Mr. Thompson). Mr_ Stevens returned thanks for the sympathy sent by the Association on' account of his accident. Mr. O. Boldt gave a resume of the proceedings of the conference of school committees held in New Plymouth, and stated that he believed a lot of good would result from the conference; further, that the need of future conferences was very obvious. Mr. R, Baxter, the other delegate of the Association, fully endorsed the views expressed by Mr. Boldt, and gave dotails in connection with the question of subsidies, etc. A motion of thanks was accorded Messrs Boldt and Baxter for their attendance and the conference and their report on the same. A considerable discussion ensued regarding things in general, after which it was decided that a special meeting be hold on April 11 to consider the report and balance-sheet in connection with the late seaside picnic. A notice of motion was tabled by the Durham delegate to. the effect that it be a recommendation to the incoming committee to consider March 31 as a suitable day for holding the annual seaside picnic, and stating that the fact that the regatta, etc., organised for that date should prove ap attraction to the country residents; also, that the secretary be asked to see if concessions I would be given the children and parents by those controlling the affair.
