THE BOYS' SCHOOL. Mr \Y. IT. Moycs, principal. reported that the number of boys on the roll was Kill; 40 boys were in residence, and two more had been entered as .boarders for the second half of the term. Mr Moyes also again stated the urgent need for more sick-room accommodation. During the past month five boys had been ill with influenza, and it had been found impossible to carry out the doctor's orders with regard to isolating them.. THE GIRLS' SCHOOL. Miss C. Grant, lady principal of the Girls' School, submitted her usual monthly report to the Board. She suggested the forming of classes in additional subjects, in terms of the letter of Mr A. Gray (technical organiser to the Education Board), which slie forwarded to the Board.—The report was held over till next meeting. GENERAL. The Treasury Department wrote .stating that £lO9 Is lid had been paid into the bank to the credit of the Board, as apportionment under section -2 of the. Education Keserves Amendment Act. 1010, of the revenue derived from Reserves and Endowments set apart for secondary education for the miarter ended December 31, 1913. The Department also wrote to the effect that £SO had been paid to the Board's credit as a grant for rent of temporary premises of Girls' High School from July I to December 31, 1913. The Board accepted the invitation of ■the Red Post Furnishim- Company, Ltd., to attend a private exhibition of Edison Kinotoscope pictures this evening. The Finance Committee reported that the committee was negotiating with the Bank of New Zealand for an overdraft of £3OOO,

Mr 0. C. Fenton forwarded his resignation as master in charge of the Preparatory School. as from June 10, 1914. —Accepted. At this stage the. Board went into committee to discuss matters dealin™ with the Welfare of the school. Accounts amountin" to £720 19s lfld were passed for payment.
