WOMEN EMIGRANTS.
NEED POR MATRON'S SUPERVISION. Times-Sydney Sun Special Services. • Received 13, 5.30 p.m. London, March 13. Lord Plunket, speaking at the British Women's Emigration Association, referred to the dangers besetting young women emigrating to Australasia, and emphasised the need for supervision bymatrons.
The Bishop of Yukon said that there were 80,000 more men than women in Canada. The problem was to make them British citizens. This could be solved by getting sufficient British women to go to Canada as servants, teachers, nurses, and wives.
