CANADA'S PUBLIC LIFE.
ALLEGED LOW STANDARD. , CHARGES OF CORRUPTION. By OaMe —Press Association —Copyright i Ottawa, March 11. I The Toronto Globe, the.most influen- i tial Liberal newspaper in Canada, de- i mands that both political parties in ] the Dominion shall clear their houses. It alludes to the recent scandals in the Ontario and Quebec Legislatures and the Grand Trunk Pacific revelations. The latest scandal is the diversion of the funds of the Trent Canal to political purposes. The paper declares that the whole tone of public life in Canada has reached a low point, and it is necessary that, some stand should be taken, unless Canadian politics are to decline to the level of those of the United States.
