SHORTAOK OK TEACHERS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright ' Sydney, March 12. The annual report of the inspector of secondary schools shows a net enrolment for the year of 6.2i12 pupils. The inspector reports a growing demand for places in high schools. The city schools are overcrowded, necessitating a large expenditure on buildings in the near future. There ire also signs that the supply of qualified teachers is not equal to the demand. Mr. Carmichael, commenting on the report, says he thinks the crowing interest in high schools is one of the healthiest signs that the vigorous and progresivc education policy is becoming fruitful.
