Intense interest wan taken at Wanganui in the "Queen of the Carnival" competition in connection with, the Beautifying Society's Carnival. There were twelve, candidates for the ■position of Queen. The election of the Queen of the Carnival was decided to-night in the. presence of 5000 people.
