NEW PLYMOUTH CARNIVAL. Swimmers an? reminded that the annual carnival of the .New Pivmouth Swimming Club will take place" in the municipal baths this evening at H oclock, not 7.30 as previously advertised. The carnival this year promises to surpass those of any previous years, the entries being larger than ever before, and the class of swimmers engaired being very high. For the 50 yards, 70 yards" and 100 yards races, twentv-five swimmers have entered from all parts of the district, and the entries for the ladies' races total 14. There are also good entries, for the SO '-ai'ds maiden, and th-' boys' race. The poio watch' between Hawera and New Plymouth should he especially interesting in view of the recent defeat of the Hawera team by NewPlymouth in the West Coast championships meeting.
