Ml!. ATMORE AT WAIROA. By Telegraph--Press Association. Wairoa, .March T. Despite the wet. stormy weather, Mr. Atniore, M.P., addressed a large meeting in reply to the lion. F. M. B. Fisher's Wairoa speech. Mr. Atniore said Mr. Fisher was prepared to speak in small places, but did not dare lo face Wellington Central. The speaker made a strong defence of Sir Joseph Ward, ami ridiculed the statement that tne Liberals had done no good while in ollice. Before the election Mr. Massey bad promised to reveal corruption, but he found none to reveal. It was not the Government that had settled the strike, but the farmers. .Mr. Fisher hau said so. and the Chief Justice from the bench had shown that the (lovernnicnt had not done its duty at the start. The Massey party, said Mr. Atmi.re, was a supporter of monopolists—shipping, banking, land and insurance—and Mr. Massey dare not go against one of these. He was Premier under dictation; his was a Government not of the people, by the people, or for the people. Mr. Atniore gave statements regarding the West.porl Harbor Hoard affair, and the Royil Garlick appointment, and referred to the Civil Service and liail, way Commissioners. He concluded amid loud applause. A vote of thanks and confidence in the Opposition was carried with cheers, as well as for Sir Joseph Ward and the Liberals.
