The milk of the butchers' shops have re-opened, hut the supply is still below tlie demand peuding slaughtering gettin;; into full swing again. A renewal oi the trouble was threatened this morning when the teef slaughtermen refused to resume, demanding a week's images in lieu of notice. As the. result of a ballot later in the day tliev waived the claim, and decided to resume to-morrow. A numbir of shopmen are still out, but it is expected that those; will bo absorbed when trade reaches its normal level in a few days. Mr. Justice Heydon has granted the application 011 behalf of both masters and men varying the award by fixing the hours for butchering employees at forty-nine and a-half weekly, and making the starting, time at all shops G.3IJ
