BenI ning. | The appointments of home missionaries will be made after the confirmation of tlic ministerial appointments. The suggested publication of the book of Dr. Fitehett, "What Methodism Stands For" was introduced, and it was decided to co-operate with the Australian Church in its publication. The report of the committee on the Methodist Union was adopted. Gratification was expressed at the happy consumation of the union. A hearty vote of thanks was tendered to the Hon. Mr. Massey for his kindly offices in securing the passing of the Methodist Union Act, and to the Hon. Mr. Fisher and Mr. .). Luke for preparing the Bill. A hearty vote of thanks was tendered to annoymous donors for the gift to the church of an orphanage at Auckland valued at £4OOO. Gratification was expressed at the successful opening of the institution and also at the early I opening of the South Island orphanage. I Tlic Rev. Mr. Simmonds was cordially I thanked for his work as principal of ' the training college at Three Kings. ' The Rev. T. G. Brook reported that there were nineteen home mission stations vacant, and he was authorised by conference to endeavor to secure men from Cliff College, England, and fill the vacancies, provided the Rev. Mr. Sladc. who is visiting England, is satisfied with their fitness to work in the Dominion. The late Rev. Mr. Beecroft, it was reported, had bequeathed £SO each to the funds of home and foreign missions. Mr. Sherris was appointed lay treasurer of the foreign mission fund.
