I'REXTH SPOUTS. (From our own Correspondent.) The Urenui Sports (,'lnb's annual meeting was held on Thursday in the Reerea- - tion (irouuds. The weather, which looked threatening in the morning, cleared up, and, there not being too much sun, the conditions were pleasant. The attendance was very fair, considering the counter-attractions. The committee and their energetic secretary (Mr. L. , Rattenbnn ) deserve all praise for the thorough manner in which everything was carried oil'. The racing was good, and there were some good finishes. Mrs. V. Rowe and Mrs. Waite ran the refreshment booth, and the committee the soft drinks booth. The annual bull took place in the Town Hall in the evening. and the building was simply crowded, quite 100 couples being present. Mrs. George's orchestra supplied the music in her well-known style. .Messrs X. Pep- • percll and S. Managh made capable ■ M.C.'s, and were certainly the right men in the right place. Mesdames F. Rowe . and Waite supplied the slipper (a sitdown one) and gave every satisfaction. Dancing was kept up till nearly 3 a.m., when all went home well pleased wi:h their outing.
