SUICIDE OF A SEAMAN. Wellington, Saturday. Alfred .lesse Stevens, a married man, 54 years of age, living apart from his wife, committed suicide yesterday by taking poison. He had been in depressed spirits for some time through lack of employment. He was formerly au able seaman on the Wairuna. SUDDEN DEATHS. Wellington, Saturday. Two inmates of the old men's home died suddenly yesterday. They were Jane Bevan and Henry Pike, 80 years and 03 years respectively. At the inquests .to-day the verdict in both cases was that death was due to heart failure. A GUN FATALITY. Christchurch, Last N T ight. Alfred Ransley, aged 45 years, a telegraph messenger, residing at Addington, shot himself with a double-barrel-led gun this morning. He had been ill for some time. KILLED WHILE RABBIT-SHOOTIXfi. Christchurch, Last Night. The body of Frederick Ladnor Mor.ldcy, the son of E. C. Mouldey, a wellknown wine merchant was found on the Port Hills above his father's residence, at Heathcote, with a gunshot through the throat. At the inquest it was stated that Mouldey was out shooting rabbits on Friday. About 11.30 a.m. he chatted with a neighbor, whom he left to go to dinner. The neighbor found the body yesterday lying on its back, with the barrel of the gun resting on the left shoulder and the left arm over the gun. nc had been trying to get through the gate. A verdict was returned that he met his death by being accidentally shot whilst shooting rabbits.
