A deputation of fanners, butter manufacturers and members of Parliament waited on the Hon. J. H. Cann, Minister for Agriculture, and urged him to strenuously oppose the introduction of colored matter into margarine. Nobody,. they taid, objected to the eale of margarine as such, but it should not be sold as butter. They wanted fair competition, but coloring matter was introduced for an illegitimate purpose. Mr. Cann said the present regulation was a good one, and he had heard nothing to make hjm interfere. He as- , surcd them it would remain intact
