INDECOROUS ATTIRE.
SWEEPING CONDEMNATION. AT WOMEN'S CONFERENCE. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, March 5. Th« Australasian Women's Conference passed a resolution that nil members of the association should refrain from the prevailing fashion of indecorous attire. The mover of the motion was warm in her condemnation of the prevailing fashions. She said it was dreadful to sit in the trams and trains with women, who had lost all sense of decency anrl modesty. She was surprised that the Government had not taken action. If the unfortunate class of women wore such costumes the. police would arrest them. It was degrading to respectable women to see others wearing insuilicicnt clothing to cover the body. She had seen a window display of tango underskirts being viewed more by men than women. A delegate interjected: It is like their cheek! Another speaker urged women lo take action to prevent such displays. Their indecency was shocking and disgraceful.
