AUCKLAND v. STRATFORD. The touring tc;im of Auckland howlers spent a very enjoyable (lay at Stratford on Thursday, and at its conclusion wished the day had been longer. The home bowlars did everything possible for the visitors' comfort and pleasur.;, > even to defeating them in the inter- ' club match, and losing- to them in the morning fixture, in which the recognised skips played as leaders. The green played well, though, of course, it was not as "fiery" as the Auckland greens. The pavilion hud been decorated and festooned with flags, and looked really smart. Mrs. 0. Smart and Miss Smart . dispensed morning tea, and in the afternoon were joined by Mesdames Edgeeumbe and Cickerton. The afternoon , games were watched by quite a number * of interested visitors.
