The -weather was again distinctly unfavorable for shooting this mornii.g, The wind was not unduly strong, but light showers of rain swept over the rang", and for the, first hour the targets we're shrouded in a driving mist. The morning was devoted to the Nelson match (10 shots at 800 and 000 yards), Bisley targets, Mclvor, of Te Awaivutu, proving the winner with the fine score of 92, made in good style. Patrick, of Auckland, was well up with !)] , Soper, of Tuamarina, being next best with 3!), Given, of (Wellington Suburbs, also registering 89. In the afternoon the Havvke's Bay match (ten shots at 1)00 yards) provided the ■programme, which was won by Lieut. Simmonds, of Blenheim, who put on one within the possible and so ran into second place for the belt. Feast, of Opaki, came next with 47, a very meritorious performance, which was made at a time when the wind was blowing in its most tantalising mood. Given, of the Suburbs Club, was third with 4<i. Trentham, Yesterdnv. At the annual meeting of the Do minion-Rifle Association last night. Unreport stated that free railway passes had been granted up to 100 miles faith e purpose of firing club competition-;. As the result of representation to tin Minister for Defence, rifle clubs had besii relieved from liability in case of accidents to markers. The following resolution was carried: ''This meeting cordially endorses t!;c action of the New Zealand Rifle Club's executive in expressing the appreciation of New Zealand rifle clubs at the thorough and practical manner in which the Defence Minister is assisting rifle clubs and rifle shooting dn the Dominion." It was decided that the attention of the Minister be called to the fact -that in the musketry memorandum for 101213 the reference to the fact that voluntary members of rifle clubs fail to lulp compulsory member is considered unair on rifle clubs. The cxecutivo was re-elected, President Marshall, Riflemen Masefield and Welch were elected as rifle club representatives on the executive.
