OPUNAKE. (From Our Own Correspondent). At the S.M. Court on Thursday, befor Mr. A. Crookc, S.M., judgment hv default was given in the following cases:—Deegan and Brcnnan v. G. Epia, claim 12s fld, costs 10s; K. Cain v. \V. Larscn, claim £3 15s, costs £1; J. Evcrsfield v. W. Peters, claim £2 3s, costs fl Is; A. Hickman v. A. Tunnecliffe, claim £3 lis, costs ss; B. A. Foura v. Rangitito, claim fll 9s, costs ■CI l!)s (Id. Tlie Black judgment summons case was again before the Court. and a further adjournment was made to allow of a statement of debtor's finances to be made up. A Rahotu Maori, Rangi Tobo, pleaded guilty to getting drink during the currency of a prohibition order. He admitted procuring drink on the road from New Plymouth. He was fined £2 and costs 12s. An alleged slander case, A. Crawford v. U. Morris, senr., was adjourned till next Court day, on the application of defendant's solicitor. •Tohn Xeilson v. JUiss Euida Kopp, claim £3(l Gs 3d. Judgment for £26 J2s 3d was given, with costs £4 10s. The Seaside Society held a meeting on Wednesday night, when a financial statement of the fete was presented. The statement showed a credit balance ot £77, which will be spent on further improvements to the beach. The Stratford bowlers paid a visit to Opunake on Thursday. The scores were equal, viz., 24 each.
