RUST-RESISTING OATS.
PRONOUNCED SUCCESS. Ly Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland. Last Night. Perhaps one of the greatest results achieved from the distribution of small parcel-' of rust-resisting oats seed has been obtained by a Whatawliata farmer. He received a pound-weight parcel of seed, and planted it in carefully-pre-pared land, from which' ho reaped over 100 lbs of first-elass oats. The threshing 0 f this oat, so far as the Kuakura State Farm lias produced :WOO bushels, and has averaged SO bushels to the acre. Tin's marvellous result has sprung from one plai.t discovered in the centre of a rust-infecto area years ago.
