Mr. Cook states that no whisper of the cession of the New Hebrides to France has reached him. lie thinks there is no justification whatever for the statement. He considers that it would be well if the Rev. Mr. Pafon would either authenticate such statements or cease making them. The. Government will receive adviaes from the most authoritative sources on this subject.
