ALLEGED FOItOKRY. By Telegraph-Press Association. Greymouth. Last Night. Yida. Upton, on two charges of forgery of withdrawals from (irey Post Ollice, was committed for trial at the Magistrate's Court to-day. The evidence of the prosecution alleged she was in the habit of visiting a married woman at Waiuta, from whom she took the bank book and presented two withdrawal slips for £lO and fl"> within an interval of an hour. The accused had taken out a titket in the name of Miss Smith for Wellington, bv the Mapuurika. The police allege she purchased a ring valued at B. The accused pleaded not guilty, and bail in self for £l"i() and surety of f I~>o was allowed. SLY CROC SKLLIXO. Wellington. Last Night. At the .Magistrates' Court. Kdwurd Rossiter Roddick wan fined £2O far sly grog .selling in the neighborhood of Taranaki street. Daniel O'l'ricH. convicted of ti similar offence, was fined »:10.
