Thi' Premier visited the Pukekohe Show on Saturday and received a number of deputations in the township. He was entertained at luncheon bv the show officials, and delivered a short speech, in tlie course, of which he dwelt upon the splendid Reason farmers had experienced. He stated that the exports would prove a record. Mr. Massey said the Government was doing its duty to the settler by providing access to holdings, giving railway facilities, and better road.'..
Referring to the Board of Agriculture, Mr Massey mentioned thq encouragement the Government was giving to scientific farming. It was on his advice that the Board had been set up, and he expected it would prove of -treat advantage, not only to the Minister lint also to all engaged in farming liursuits. Referring to condemned cattle, Mr. Massey mentioned that he had asked Parliament to increase compensation from £8 to £l2.
