MASTER PRINTERS' ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL MEETING. The seventh annual meeting of llie New Zealand Master Printer*' Industrial Association of Employers was held is the Council Chambers yesterday morning, and was presided over by tne President, Mr W. Petrie (Greyniouth), M, j. Brennan (Opunake), P. Selig (Christchurch), C. H. Walker (Hawcra), A. L. Muir (Gisborne), F. E. Hyman (Ohristchurch), A. MeNicol (Dannovirke), IP. McCullongh (Thames), F. Kkdahl (Hawcra), J. Lyon (Auckland), and C. H. Jenkins (.Auckland). The annual report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. A resolution of sympathy was passed with the secretary, Mr T.' H. Reid, in his illness, and a vote of thank* was passed to Mr 11. Keys, who is acting as. secretary at the conference. ' Much important business was brought forward, including a number of remits from the different unions, on which an animated discussion look nlaee. The conference adjourned at 12.30, in order that members might take advantage of hearing the Royal Artillery Hand, and resumed at 7 p.m. , The retiring officers were re-olceted as follow:—President, Mr G. Somerville (Dunedin); vice-president, Mr W. Smith (Invercargill); council, Messrs. J. Oooke (Dunedin), L. T. Watkins (Wellington), T. Jones (Wellington), J. Gamble (Christchurch), D. J. Wright (Auckland); organising secretary, Mr T. H. ■ Reid; auditor, Mr P. Jackson. Eulogistic references were made to the good work performed by the President and council during the past year, and a hearty vote of thanks was aocorded them. Votes of thanks were also passed to the local printers and newspaper proprietor* and the different sports club* for the hospitality extended to them during their stay in New Plymouth, and also to the local Borough Council, for the use of its rooms and the public batli3. The annual meeting of the New Zealand branch of the Empire Press Union was held at the Borough Council Chambers yesterday morning, when there ' "were present: Messrs. G.
