DEATH OF A CIHXAMAX. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, February 20. Sow Tup, who was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday evening in an unconscious condition, died this morning. It is unknown what caused his illness. FATAL TALL FROM A HORSE. Hastings, February 20. E. D. Collison, a well-known * sheep farmer, died last night from the effects of injuries sustained through falling from his horse on Saturday.

A BROKEN BUI DC K. Westport, Last Night. The driver of a six-home wagon had a miraculous escape from death whilst crossing the Wainiea erect bridge on the Bullor road to-day. The accident happened with dreadful suddenness, and the unfortunate man was almost cut to pieces. Chisholni was a tea canvasser, and lived in Ann street, Roslyn. He was married, and it is stated hag children attending school. It seems that the gripman in charge of the down car rang the bell as soon as he took the grade, and saw a man ahead nf him. Chisholm was then walking down hetweeu the two tracks, and; according to the statement of a passenger, he stepped in front of the ear when it was a little more than a foot from him. The shock carried the ear clean from the rails. DROWNING ACCIDENT. Invcrcargill, Last Night. While bathing at the Ocean Beach today, a High School hov liainwl Cyril Soar, got into dilticulties. Lan Calloway, drill instructor, went to the rescue and both were carried out to sea. Galloway, aged 34, leaves a widow.
