Hopgood lias been found not guilty of the murder of his wife, on tho ground of insanity, and wag ordered to be detained during the Governor's pleasure. A cablegram received on January 19 stated that Henry Perne Hopgood called at the police station at Bowen Hills and stated that his wife had been trying to poison him arfd he had killed her in a timber yard. The police investigated and found the body of Bridget jiopgood with two wounds, in her left forehead.
