A conference of both Houses is pending fo give the measure its final form. A thousand miles of railways development in Alaska is planned, with the ultimate construction of Canadian link lines through British Columbia providing strategic railways of great importance along the North Pacific Coast which, ir. thi event of war, would render th<j transportation of troops easy.
