' WAITARA WATER SUPPLY. The pollution of tile Waitara borough water supply received further attention 011 Wednesday, when the Hospital Board discussed the matter at its monthly meeting, The general opinion of the Board seemed to bo that pollution was taking place, and that the persons notified by the Department were not the only ones responsible. On the other hand, the Mayor of Waitara informed a Cs'ows reporter recently that thers was no foundation whatever for the action taken by the Department. He said he had gone over the ground and found nothing to justify the complaints made. In the face of the contradictory statements which have been made it certainly seems advisable that the Waitara Borough Council should take immediate action to have the matter investigated.
