The position with regard to tin- New Plymouth schools, which were refiMiily reported liy tin- Xew i'hmoulh Hospital ]!oard's inspector to be ill an insanitary condition, was furiher discussed at tlic monthly meeting of the Hoard yesterday. | The eiiainnan'lMr. K. C. ■!. licllringci) reported that Dr. Ohcssoii, District Health Oiliccr. had, with himself and tile Hoard's inspector, recently visited the schools in question and had in liie main endorsed Mr. Kendall's opinion. This was satisfactory to the Hoard, in view of the adverse criticism to which the inspector's report had heen siilijected. Dr. Chesson litiil informed him that he would himself lay the matter before the Kducation Department, and a telegram just received from him confirmed this statement. Dr. Chesson had found nothing to complain of as far a» the West End School was concerned, except that it was a pity that a larger site had not been obtained, to provide for the growth of the school. .Vr. Hellringer added that it had not been deemed advisable to interfere with the re-opening of the schools; tie' Board had now to await Dr. Chesson's action.
