ACTIVE EXPANSION" EFFORTS. liy Telegraph.—Press Association. Invercargilf, Last Night. At a largely attended meeting ot representative citizens held this evening-, it was decided to form a Southland Progressive Society, the object being to further the interests »f the province. It was mentioned that the step was necessary if only to counteract the influence of the Dunodin Expansion League, which, it was said, ospecially in regard to tourist traffic, was endeavoring to mislead people in other parts of .New Zealand and Australia.
