A WOMAN ACQUITTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day. the jury returned a verdict of not guilty in the ease in which Ellen Marga»et Seymour was charged with the murder of her illegitimate child. THE AUCKL-iXD SESSIONS, Auckland, Last Night. The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court were continued to-day. A young Austrian, Steve Jurakovich, charged with carnal knowledge, pleaded not guilty. It was stated that he had sinco married the girl, a half-caste Maori, 15 years of age. The iury returned a verdict of guilty. Accused was remanded for ser>tcnee. James Walsh, aged 25, formerly an employee in the Telegraph Department, and latterly a photographer at Rotorua, pleaded. guilty to having obtained sums of money (amounting to £270), by means of false mretences, from the Postal Department at Rotorua, It was stated that restitution of the amount involved had been made. The prisoner was admitted to probation for two years, and ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution. Henry Nightingale, aged 30, a butcher, of Northcote, was fined £5 and costs for assault and causing actual bodily harm. George Harris, found guilty of attempted theft from the person at the Whangarei racecourse, was remanded, pending the hearing of a further charge. ' THE TEMPTATION OF "TATT'S." Wellington, Last Night. Reginald Herbert, for wilfully keeping a postal packet containing Tattersail's tickets, was ordered by the Chief Justice to come up for sentence when called upon.
