The New Zealand amateur swimming championships opened here this evening, under ideal conditions. The results are as follow: 75yds. Inter-club Handicap.—Levy (Wellington), 1; Bristed (Nelson), 2; Wilton (Picton), 3. Won with a little to spare, the third man being well back. Sixty entries. 100 yds. Championship (holder, M. E. Champion, Auckland).—First heat: M. E. Champion 1, Atkinson 2, Annand 3. Also started: Fordham. Time, 02 l-.w. Second Heat: Jered 1, Sinton -2, j'ookson 3. Also started:: Pfiinkucli, Stevens, and Emerson. Final: Champion (Auckland) 1, Atkinson (Opawa) 2, Sinton (Waitemata) 3. It was Champion's race all through, although there was not much between him and Atkinson. The time, (il 4-ssec, is a New Zealand record.

NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB, The New Plymouth Amateur Swimming Club's competitions were concluded last night, when four races were swum hi the Municipal Baths. Following are tjie results:— Ladies' Championship, 100 yds— Ivy Hawke 1, D. Hawke 2, 11. Jury 3. A very close finish. Time, lmin 42kee. Also started: ('.. Mouatl, H. Rollo, and M. Mouatt.

Rollo (6scc), and M. Mouatt (25sec). This leaves Ivy Hawke and G. Mouatt equal, with eight points each, in the points prize competition.
