The chief interest taken in the athletic meeting was the appearance of the Americans, who succeeded in capturing the majority of the State championships, but every man was forced to go his hardest to win the honors. Mile Kun-J A". Power (America) 1, A. F. Thorpe (N.S.W.) 2, Flowers 3. An exciting race. Won by three and a half yards. Time, 4min 33 2-ssec. Pole Vault—E. R. Temple-ton (America) 10ft, 1; Thomson- ami Adams (dead heat), Oft, 2. 440 Yards—G. L. Parker (America) 1. F. C. Madeley (N.S.W.) 2. Won easily! were trie only two to finish.
