Bond Cup, of GSO sovs.; one mile.— Effervescence 1, Lord Crey 2, Prizefighter 3. Fourteen started. Won by two and a half lengths, the third horse only a neck away. Time, 2min 3(isec. Oakleigh Plato, of 1350 sovs.; five furlongs—Popinjay 1, Xuwnra Eliya 2. Four Flush 3. Twenty-five started. Popinjay, who drew first position on •tfte rails, with Woorak, showed the way round the turn. Popinjay drew out inside the distance and won by a length and a quarter, with the third horse three quarters of a length in the rear. The time, lmin is t'l? slowest for five vears.
