The Xew Zealand loan and Jlcrcantile Agency Company Ltd., Stratford I branch, report as follows: . i On Tuesday, lOtli inst., ws 'held our usual fortnightly sale in our .Stratford yards, when we yarded 214 head of cattle, of which we sold I.'JB head. The yarding was small owing to the »hocp fair being held on the same day.

Store cows: Somewhat easier in prices, especially for low conditioned staff, realised from ">oa to 03s, medium sorts 7as to 00s, forward cows 97s to 107s (id, fat cows up to 13& i, balls, smalt 72s lid to SOs, heavier beast* up to 1255, 2'/,-year steers SOs to 01s, steers of, good quality making from lOfe to 110s, 20-month steers (>-2s, 03s Od, 00s, and up to 71s, cows anil calves 71s up to 85s, and 90s.

On Tuesday 10th, wo held our annual, sheep fair, whan we had only a small yarding, as, owing to the dulness of prices we recommended several clients not to yard. However, 2000 sheep were yarded, of which we sold 1830, mostly privately after the sale, lambs, small, os (id to Ss Od, f.m. ewes Bs, 8s Od, os, 10s (id and made up to 12s Oil for a nice line of f.m. ewes, 4 and 0-tuoth to f.m. ewes, quality not too good, from 0s 10d to 10s 4d, cull ewes 5s 4d to 0s od, and up to 7s fld, mixed sheep of good quality made up to 10s Od, 2-tooth wethers los 2d, 4 and (l-tooth wether. 17s :)d, 2tooth Komney rams made 2y 4 to 3'/4gns

We held our usual monthly sale of wool, sheepskins, hide tallow, ete., on 'Tuesday, 10th iust.. when we presented a fair catalogue to an average attendance of buyers. Competition was brisk,. more especially for lambs" wool. Best lines sold at up to and above present ■London values, more especially for coarser, heavy conditioned wools.
