OPENINGS FOR YOUNG MEN. ' By Cable—Press Association—Copyright London, February II). At a meeting of the Great Eastern Railway Company, Lord Claud Hamilton bewailed the dearth of young men competent to fill the position of general manager. He announced that the company had appointed Mr. Thornton, superintendent of the Long Island Railroad, America, aged forty-one. Lord Hamilton cabled to Mr. Thornton, who left by the first boat, inspected the system, and accepted the appointment.
