A largely-attended meeting of Libera! supponei-s \v;u held to-night to select n candidate to oppose tlin sitting member at next election. Mr Joseph McCluggugc, the party's nominee on last occasion, declined nomination, but lie was prevailed upon to further consider the matter and to announce his decision in a month's time. It is understood there are other aspirant* for the position whp'-tire" u.vpared to place themselves imi'esefveil'v in the hands of a meeting of the party.
