I'egwlations have . been drawn up covering the equipment of wireless on ■steamships registered' in Xew Zealand \and carrying not less than 50 passengers. in foreign, _ intercolonial or home trade. All these must he fitted with ■wireless by July 1 next. The coastal ives-.els Affected are the Arahnra, 'J'ara'.went. Mapourika. Hauroto, Monowai, ■liavawa, Mararoa. Takapuna, Ti» Anau .and Manaia. Altogether -27 vessels 'come iimler the regulations, lnit seven■.teen of these, including the intercolonial vessels, are already litted, leaving; the aliove-named to lie iiited within the next live months. The regulations provide for the inspection of ships' eipiipt; and supply of power needed for amission of signals when vessels under way. Breaches of regulai liy owners or masters or mule are I punishable by a line of "j-'.iO.
