(By "Moturoa.") The Taranaki Jockey Hub's autumn meeting will be concluded to-day. Acceptances are fairly numerous, and fields promise to be well up to the average. Of the four rcma'mi"-» in the Hack Hurdles, Huia may carry most money. Ixird Lupin won so easily yesterday that he may prove a hard nut t» crack in the Grandstand Handicap. The Omata Hack Handicap bears an open appearance, but King Cliir and Lady Ami read as well handicapped as anything. On Hawera running Los Angelos appears to be given a fair chance in the Paul Memorial Handicap, though Byron may trouble the Hawera .Stakes winner. A very ordinary lot figure in the Walter. Probably White Crane and Patronymic will be the elect of backers. Fourteen have been paid up for in the Kawan Handicap, and tlie field includes sucli good ones as Di Gama, Maniaroa and Bercola. Despite a rise from fi.ll to 8.0, Play Of! will carry a lot of money in the small field which will contest the Farewell Handicap. The Urenui Scurry looks very open. Firing Line, who was unlucky yesterday, may keep Patroon, Encore a«d Co. "busy over a five-furlong course. The weather promises to be fine, and a good day's sport should attract a big crowd to the local racecourse to-day.
