SHIPS WITHDRAWN.
NEW ARRANGEMENTS MADE. Times-Sydney Sun Special Cables. Received 11, 4.50 p.m. London, February 10. The decision of the North Deutcher Lloyds to withdraw all sailing ships from the Australian service synchronises with the withdrawal of tho llessageries Maritimos from the beginning of August. The Messageries, after leaving Colombo, will call at Singapore, Batavia, Java, New Hebrides, New Caledonia, Brisbane and Sydney. It is expected the present steamers will, be transferred to other routes and replaced by the smaller and slower steamers engaged in the India, China and Japan services. Received 11, 11.20 p.m. London, February 11. The Messageries Maritime's new service to Australia provides for monthly steamers of 12 knots, and passenger accommodation will be strictly limited. The Messageries Company is not preared to maintain 15-knot vessels at I the present subsidy.
