INQUEST IN WELLINGTON, Wellington, Last Night. At the inquest on William James Martin, the. victim of the Dixon street fire last Friday night, the coroner com- * mented on the fact that Bolton, the occupier of the house, had admitted hi had been smoking in one of the rooms and the fire had apparently started in that room. He returned a verdict that Martin was burned to death, but the evidence was insufficient to show how the fire originated. A DETERMINED SUICIDE.
