EMPIRE PICTURES. The chief item of interest in the new programme at the Empire Picture Palace last night is a fine drama entitled "The Black Circle." The cvent9 in this remarkable drama are wound round the doings of a mysterious band of mea, who commit all kinds of depredations upon society, and whose identity is a complete mystery to both the police and those whom they victimise. At a brilliant function at tho Embassy, valuable documents are stolen from the officials' private room. A mysterious card with ft crown encircled by a black border gives the detective tho clue that the robbery is the work of the mysterious Black Circle. The plot develops along exciting lines, with a maze of cross-purposes, and ends in the dramatic death of the villain, the breaking of the Black Circle, and the triumph of virtiie generally.
