NEW FIRE BRIGADE.
AT UOTUUOA. A proposal is on foot to form a tiro brigade with head-ouarters at Mottlroa. There has for some lime been a feeling among residents of that end of the town that the establishment of a fire, brigade there would both provide greater safcty for property, and lighten the work of the brigades j„ the centre 'of the town. -Mr. ('. \Y. Williams has the matter '» Imi'd, and he ha- the names of no fewer than forly men wn.j would be willing to join, lie himself has had some years experience with tie- tire police at I'almerston North.. A petition from Moturoa householders will shortly be presented to the Fire Hoard asking that j a .station be provided. The. proposed j site is close to the Freezing Works. .
