BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The abattoir manager's report, submitted at last night's Council meeting, was as follows:—•'! have the honor -to submit, my report on the working of the abattoir during the month of January. Martin's, Cordelia street, ami Mr. Valentine's Swansea road. A lain concrete pipe culvert has been inserted on Pembroke road. This culvert was • extended through . the racecourse, a. distance of 51i.t. The cost of the w®rk on the racecourse property is being charged to ihe Stratford Racing Club. Xoxious weeds have been, cut on. lror,au»h reserves between Cordelia, and Ariel streets, south of the Patea river. Watertables and footpaths on Fenton street west and Juliet street central have been attended to. The crusher bins have been erected; 110 cubic yards of material has been crushed. The > whole* of' tin- crusher plant is working splendidly. The work of laying a ilin water main from Regan street .to* the Recreation Grounds is in hand. Two water services have been laid and three premises connected to the borough sewers. The. work of kerbing and channelling will he put in hand to-morrow.
